Sigh...
I've been growing theses gorgeous winter growing South African sundews for more than a couple of years now and although the small plants are healthy and come back each year, I find them fairly slow. I hope I can soon lay my eyes on those Drosera on the tip of which will proudly stand some amazing flowers.
Drosera alba:
Drosera cistiflora:
I grow my plants in my garage under tubes. I suspect the temperatures are not optimal. When the weather is cold, the plants endure temperatures of 6 °C at night and 10°c at day. There's of course no "greenhouse effect" and therefore, no real difference of temperature in the room -no significant elevation of temperature. I suspect the days should be a bit warmer. Or maybe the seedlings are still too small? I might be an impatient kid.
Beautiful plants!
ReplyDeleteThe red one seems D.alba.
Hello Pico!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for reminding me the reddish plant actually is Drosera alba. I got this plant from Extreme plants a while ago as D. cistiflora and these plants indeed turned out to be D. alba.
Cheers,
François.
