Drosera ordensis displaying its glorious beauty.

EDIT : I now think the plant below is a hybrid sold to me as D. ordensis. My guess is that is it D. broomensis x D. ordensis (03 October 2016).

It's been a while since I didn't give a glimpse of my cultivated plants. Here is one. ;-)

I've been keeping an eye on this sundew species for years and got the chance, a few months ago, to get my hands on one nice specimen. I have a soft spot for all the species of the Petiolaris complex and although I have yet to understand all the boundaries between each taxon (I'm studying Allen Lowrie's last three books at the moment), I have to say that they are all beautiful in their own right. To me, Drosera ordensis is one of the most elegant of them and I'm happy to find it thriving under my care. This plant is labelled as coming from Timber Creek, Northern Territory.

Nothing special if you ask for cultivation tips : a lots of light, heat and a very high humidity level. The dormancy might be the real problem. Next May, I will progressively stop the watering regime. I'm confident though as I now have quite a few years of Petiolaris complex experience under my belt. Stay tuned! ;-)
